HostUtopia’s TrueSpace® disk storage provides our web hosting clients with the best storage system provided in the web hosting industry. When we reserve space in our web hosting environment for our clients it’s TrueSpace®, the drive will NEVER deliver a disk full error.

TrueSpace® is protected by our customized Shared ServeUtopia storage environment. Our shared environment consists of 8 customized 16 E5 Processor Servers, each with 64GB of Ram and Raided 2TB HDs. We never oversell a servers space, once you lock in on your hosting plan the space is reserved on the server and is taken out of inventory. All data is replicated on Hardware Raided Drives, then backed up to our 20TB R1Soft Backup Device that is housed offsite in an alternate Data Center.

The Unlimited Myth

Many web hosting companies offer “unlimited” as a plan feature. It is impossible for any provider to actually provide an unlimited amount of bandwidth or disk space. It’s just not possible.

Whenever you see a web hosting provider claim “unlimited storage” be sure to read their Terms & Conditions of Use, unlimited is NOT unlimited, it’s simply imposible to make such false claims. We’ve tested Unlimited Storage on several of the TOP Hosts in North Amercia; NON stood up their claims.

So Why Do Unlimited Plans Exist?

Most websites only consume a very small amount of bandwidth and disk space. Web hosting companies that provide unlimited anything as a plan feature are banking on the fact that you won’t use very much. Unlimited is a marketing trick to get your business. The web hosting market is very competitive. Although selling plans that pretend to be unlimited can seem dishonest, it does not mean that the hosting company will not provide good service. Check in the hosting company’s Terms of Service: there will probably be a note about what “unlimited” really means.
